After the City of Seal Beach took possession of the Seal Beach Tennis Center, the City’s Parks Master Plan considered use, maintenance and operation of the facility. The Master Plan process resulted in the recommendation to conduct a park-specific site planning process for the Tennis Center and adjacent Bluebell Park and to consider closing up to four of the 16 existing courts, while improving the remaining twelve courts and other facilities including the locker rooms.
Land that is freed up from the tennis court removal will allow for expansion of other recreational facilities and may be incorporated into Bluebell Park, which will be redesigned as part of the Tennis Center project. Although Bluebell Park was recently redesigned, some of its neighbors believe that it should be enhanced further, and changes at the tennis center will create an opportunity for this to happen.
The Tennis Center / Bluebell Park project provides an opportunity for enhancements to both of these important facilities. This website provides an opportunity for you to share your ideas about the improvements that will occur.
